Every year the Wellington Samaritans run an annual street appeal to raise money so that they can continue to offer their crisis helpline service to the community. This year (2020) Samaritans wanted to run a two-phase poster and social media campaign. The first phase was to raise awareness of the service they provide and the second phase was to let people know about the appeal and encourage them to donate.
The campaign took place in September 2020 just after the first COVID 19 lockdown. Samaritans wanted to address the current social anxiety the lockdown had caused by letting people know they were there for them, especially in these trying times.
